1. Dual Higher Education

1.1 Emerging Directions for Dual Study Programs in Health Sciences, Prevention, and Nutrition

We invite abstracts presenting innovative concepts and best practices in the design, implementation, and evaluation of dual study programmes within the fields of health sciences, prevention, and nutrition. Submissions may address topics such as interdisciplinary approaches to health education, integration of theoretical and practical training in paramedical and allied health studies, strategies for promoting healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare, curriculum innovation aligned with labour market needs.

 

1.2 Best Practices in Dual Academisation of Health Professions (VET)

This theme invites abstracts that present innovative developments, strategies, and experiences in the academisation of health professions transitioning from vocational education and training (VET) to higher education contexts. Contributions may explore successful models of dual study implementation, collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare providers, curriculum alignment with professional standards, competency-based training approaches.

 

1.3 Opportunities and Determinants for Improving Mental Health in Dual Students and Learners

Submissions are sought that showcase interdisciplinary approaches to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of learners in work-integrated study programs. Topics may include workload management, resilience, self-care, and the influence of digital technologies and social media, as well as institutional strategies and evidence-based interventions. This theme will also be addressed within our pre-conference Future Lab Seminar.

 

1.4 Advancing Holistic and Healthy Solutions for Self-determined Learning Pathways in Dual Higher Education

Abstracts are welcome highlighting innovative collaborations between academia and the world of work that empower learners to design individualised learning pathways. Contributions may focus on fostering inclusivity, promoting wellbeing, and supporting holistic personal development within dual higher education contexts.

 

1.5 Higher Education and the World of Work Hand in Hand: Enhancing Graduate Employability, Mental Health, and Wellbeing through Best Practices

We invite scholarly contributions that examine the interrelation between soft skills and transversal competencies, with particular attention to their role in fostering mental health, wellbeing, and resilience in both educational and World of Work settings. Submissions may explore innovative pedagogical strategies for developing these competencies, frameworks for their assessment, and their contribution to personal and social flourishing.
