Open Access Policy

The ESJ DHE journal provides open access to its content, in accordance with the principle that unrestricted availability of research promotes a broader international exchange of knowledge. No embargo period is applied to any of the journal’s publications. The dates of submission, acceptance, and publication are indicated in the PDF version of each article.

Authors retain copyright and grant ESJ DHE a license to use, reproduce, publish, and share the article under the Creative Commons CC BY license agreement, as per Plan S. Articles are immediately and freely accessible upon publication.

Ethics code

The ESJ DHE intends to apply for membership in the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). As such, the journal adheres to COPE’s Code of Conduct and guidelines for editors and pub-lishers. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow these ethical guidelines.

Copyright notice

By publishing with this journal, authors agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors agree to the publication of their manuscript in the journal;
  2. Authors confirm that the work is original, unpublished, and not currently under review elsewhere;
  3. The ESJ DHE journal is not responsible for the views, ideas, or concepts presented in the articles; these are the sole responsibility of the author(s);
  4. The ESJ DHE journal reserves the right to make editorial adjustments and adapt the text to meet publication standards;
  5. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to first publication. The work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, allowing the work to be shared with proper attribution and the initial publication in the journal;
  6. Authors may enter into additional agreements separately for non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work (e.g., publishing in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with proper attribution to the journal and original publication;
  7. Authors are encouraged to share and distribute their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on personal web pages) at any time before or during the editorial process. This can enhance visibility, increase citations, and generate positive effects.
  8. Authors have to use ORCID, a system that provides a unique identifier to distinguish their work and ensure proper attribution, especially for those with common names.
