Author Complaint Process

Before submitting manuscripts, authors are advised to carefully review all the guidelines and policies concerning the manuscript submission, processing, and publication available here.

Complaints will be taken with utmost seriousness, regardless of whether those involved are internal or external to the journal, or whether the submission in question is pre- or post-publication. If a complaint is made to the ESJ DHE journal, it must also be passed on to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC), who will follow guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on how to address the nature of the problem.

How to submit a complaint?

Authors have the right to file a complaint and request clarification if they perceive any misconduct related to applicable policies or ethical guidelines. Complaints can be submitted via email to XXX@XXX.YY.

Complaint Categories

An author or any other scholar may submit complaints about the following issues:

  • Plagiarism
  • Copyright violations
  • Misleading or inaccurate research results
  • Violations of established research standards
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Bias in the review process
  • Unusually delayed manuscript processing times
  • Unsatisfactory peer-review comments
  • Authorship disputes
  • Policy for Handling Complaints

Upon receiving a complaint, an acknowledgment is sent to the complainant, assuring them that appropriate action will be taken within three working days, excluding the date of receipt. The investigation is supervised by the Editor-In-Chief (EIC). Once the investigation is complete, a meeting is conducted with a comprehensive report on the complaint. The final decision is made and communicated to the concerned scholar via OJS. We view complaints as valuable opportunities to improve our Manuscript Processing System. All complaints are handled courteously and efficiently, ensuring timely resolution.
